Understanding Co-Buyers in TDC

Everything you need to know about handling co-buyers in the system

In many deals, a co-buyer is added alongside the primary buyer. TDC provides a secure and seamless way to include co-buyers in the process while keeping their information organized and compliant.

Adding Co-Buyers

  • A co-buyer must always be added to an existing TDC transaction.

  • This can be done:

    • Through the Dealership Dashboard, or

    • Through the Buyer Portal.

  • ⚠️ Important: The TDC system cannot merge data from two independent transactions. Always add the co-buyer to the original transaction.

Co-Buyer Portals

  • Each co-buyer receives their own portal, independent from the primary buyer.

  • They log in with their own email address and a one-time password (OTP) sent to their phone.

  • Co-buyers have access only to their own flow, documents, and forms.

Deal Scenarios

  • Co-buyers can be removed from transactions if needed.

  • The roles of primary buyer and co-buyer can be switched at any time

Forms for Co-Buyers

  • Co-buyers have their own set of Pre- and Post-Purchase forms to review and sign.

  • These documents are delivered securely into their Digital Glove Box once executed.

Logging In and Completing the Flow

  • Once added to the transaction, the co-buyer must log into their portal and go through the required flow.

  • If they are at the dealership: they can complete the flow using a second kiosk.

  • If they are remote: they log in from home through their Buyer Portal. (they can locate it via the welcome email sent to the upon adding them to the transaction)

With co-buyer support in TDC, dealerships can handle multiple buyers securely and efficiently while keeping all documents, forms, and consents fully compliant.
